Accommodation

Arrangements have been made for your accommodation in the flatlets and dormitories at ICRISAT Campus.

Food

Food will be served in the Dining Hall, Building 204 at the following times:

Breakfast Lunch Dinner

Sunday 0645‑0800 1200‑1330 1900‑2030

Other days 0645‑0745 As per Program 1900‑2030

During the Workshop, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served in the 204 Banquet Hall.

During the evening (1700‑1830 hrs) beer and soft drinks are on sale in the Rendezvous Lounge, Building 204.

Name Badges

All participants are requested to wear their name badges throughout the Workshop. ICRISAT staff wears identity cards.

Venue

All sessions will be held in the CF Bentley Conference Center, 212 Building. Microphones are arranged within your reach. Please do not switch them ON until the Chairperson indicates that you can speak. Please identify yourself before asking a question or making a comment.

PowerPoint Presentation

If you wish to support your presentation with Powerpoint, please arrange to deliver the CD/flash drive to technical staff, who will be available in the Conference Center, prior to the session in which you are scheduled to speak.

Fax, E-mail, and Mail

All ICRISAT flatlets and few dormitories are networked, so participants can access internet through their laptops. Participants who wish to use other ICRISAT communication facilities may do so by contacting secretarial staff at CF Bentley Conference Center.

All your incoming mail and messages will be delivered to you as soon as possible.

Return Journey

Participants should contact secretarial staff and/or Travel Coordinator (Extn.2213/2141) to reconfirm tickets, or to make any changes in travel arrangements.

Transport will be provided from ICRISAT Campus to the airport, and participants will be informed of these arrangements.

Important ICRISAT publications including Publications Catalog are on display at the Foyer of CF Bentley Conference Center. For single copies of any of the ICRISAT publications, or any other publications listed in the ICRISAT Publications Catalog, please complete the form and return it to secretarial staff. Publications will be available for collection from the Reception Desk or delivered to Housing Office before your departure.

Medical

First‑aid kits are available at the Housing Office and Swimming Pool. Dr CN Reddy, Sr Manager, Medical Services, will be available for consultation in the Field Medical Unit (FMU) during working hours. After office hours, he may be contacted at his residence. His telephone numbers are 2638 (FMU) and 2113 (home).

Recreation

The recreational facilities such as tennis courts, table tennis room, cricket/football pitch, basketball court and swimming pool are situated to the east of the building complex and close to the dormitories. You are welcome to use these recreational facilities before/after working hours.

Gymnasium

The Jim Ryan Recreation Center, situated near Swimming Pool, can be utilized just by paying a nominal entry fee of Rs.20 per day per person. Its working hours are:

Monday through Saturday : 0600–0930, 1100–1400 and 1600–2000 hrs

Sunday : 0600–1000 hrs

Mamta Shop

A handicrafts shop, run by the ICRISAT Association for Community Development (IACD), is located on the ground floor in 204 Building (extn 2579), right below the Cafeteria. The items available here include Bidriware, sandal wood and camel bone carvings, the famous Hyderabad black metal figurines, batic paintings, Kalamkari and Pochampally fabrics and of course, the most famous of them all––a range of Hyderabadi pearl jewelry that guaranteed to be of the highest quality. Also available are souvenir items with ICRISAT Logo––caps, T-shirts, scarves, key chains, pens and coffee mugs.

Profits from Mamta are used for community development in the surrounding villages.

It is open Monday through Friday from 0830 to 1630 and Saturdays from 0900 to 1630 hrs.

Cooperative Stores

Toiletries, cigarettes, instant coffee, tea, sugar, etc., are available at the Cooperative Stores (extn 2637) situated near the Swimming Pool and Recreation Center.

Open: Monday through Friday – 0900 to 1130 and 1215 to 1600

Security

As a routine procedure, all persons (including ICRISAT staff) entering or leaving ICRISAT Campus may be stopped for a security check at the Main Gate. We request you to cooperate with the security staff at all times.

Housing and Food Services: A Few Important Guidelines

The power supply on ICRISAT Campus is 220 volts.

The tap water in buildings on ICRISAT Campus is safe to drink.

Guest Rooms: General cleaning including changing bed linen and towels will be done by Housekeeping. If you happen to leave your key in the room and are locked out, please contact the Housing Office (extn 2550) or Main Gate Security (extn 2117).

Laundry: Laundry can be arranged by Housing and Food Services free of charge. Please fill out the laundry slips in duplicate when sending clothes for laundering and keep one slip for your record. Soiled clothes together with a laundry slip should be put into a laundry bag available in the room and left inside the room before 1000. Clothes for laundering will be collected on Monday and Wednesday and delivered on Wednesday and Friday between 1000 and 1200.
